Hand-knotted Persian Ghom silk rug featuring a rose-red field centered by a multi-lobed floral medallion. This fine silk Iran hand tied area rug is decorated with scrolling vines, palmettes, and floral sprays throughout the field. A navyprimary border contains alternating floral cartouches and tulip motifs, framed by multiple delicate guard stripes. The rug is crafted with a silk pile on a silk foundation, demonstrating a high knot density typical of professional Ghomweavers. An original paper label on the reverse is marked with rug number 50818-C and denotes the fine silk quality. The piece includes original fringe on one end and a protective white fabric header strip on the other. 3 feet 3 inches by4 feet 11 inches.This rug shows light expected wear consistent with age and display. The silk fibers maintain excellent color and luster.
