Hand-tied Iranian Qum silk rug featuring a fine silk pile on a silk foundation. The design centers on a complex multi-lobed medallion in navy, red, and cream tones set against an ivory field. The field is densely decorated with scrollingfloral motifs, palmettes, and delicate vine work. The primary navy-ground border displays a repeating floral pattern, framed by several guard borders. The reverse features protective black leather reinforcement strips along the long edgesand the rug is finished with short cream fringes at each end. An attached paper tag identifies the rug as a Fine Silk Goum from Iran with rug number 50818-4-C. 4 feet 4 inches long by 2 feet 9 inches wide. This rug displays a very nice appearance with expected light wear from age and use. Fringes and silk pile remain well-preserved.
