6 inches tall. A vintage mid-century pair of ceramic figural salt and pepper shakers featuring a coordinating chef and cook duo. Finished in a warm cream-colored gloss glaze, both hand-painted figures are stylized with dark complexions, bold white eye accents, and vibrant red mouth detailing. The female cook figure is depicted wearing a matching cream apron and hair bow accented with hand-painted red trim lines while holding a light brown rolling pin. The chef holds a matching mixing spoon and wears a traditional tall baker's hat. Intricately molded monogram details grace the lower portion of each figure's apron. This set represents a notable style of mid-20th-century novelty kitchenware pottery, highly relevant to collectors of historical Black Americana memorabilia and retro American kitchen collectibles.
