This modernist watercolor on textured paper by Shirley Talmadge depicts a wintry shoreline with vertical reeds and bare trees. The composition utilizes wet-on-wet washes in muted blues and grays alongside dry brush techniques to define the landscape. The work is signed Shirley Talmadge in the lower right and is presented in a double mat and dark wood frame.Frame: 23 1/2 x 15 1/2 inches. The tan matting exhibits toning and visible spots of foxing. The dark wood frame shows minor surface scuffs and nicks consistent with age. The brown paper dust cover on the verso is torn along the edges and shows general wear.
