L:24.5cm H:34.5cm This is a low-temperature lead-glazed tri-color burial figurine of a Western Hu foreigner riding horse, made of white pottery clay and integrally fired with rectangular base, coated with brown and green glazes. The figure wears a round Hu-style hat, with carved long beard presenting typical Western Regions facial features. He is dressed in narrow-sleeve Hu armor robe fully covered with green glaze, one fist held forward in riding posture. The whole horse is glazed brown ochre, with green enamel decorating bridle and saddle; mane and body texture are primitively realistically sculpted. Such Hu equestrian figurines are tomb burial wares, representing the deceased??s foreign attendants and caravan guards, reflecting the cultural communication and diverse social customs between China and Western regions in Ming Dynasty. The tri-color glaze bears slight soil erosion from underground burial, with primitive thick color layers, a pottery sculpture relic related to Silk Road and foreign trade culture of Ming.
ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH NO RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS.

Additional photographs and condition reports may be provided upon request as a courtesy only.
