WEIRD WAR TALES #100 ORIGINAL 1981 DC COMICS ARTWORK COMIC BOOK ONLY FOR REFERENCE DOES NOT COME WITH BOOK A true piece of DC Comics history and one that may never come to market again. Offered here is the original production artwork from DC Comics’ Weird War Tales #100 (June 1981), featuring page 23 from the story “The Scavengers!” by writer John Warner and legendary artist Vic Catan. This is the actual original comic art board used in the production of the published issue, not a reproduction or later recreation. The page is loaded with incredible Bronze Age detail, depicting a brutal samurai battle with swords, warriors, bodies, and supernatural imagery. The artwork continues into additional panels featuring the mysterious forces behind the story. Collectors will also appreciate the surviving original production markings, including the issue number, date, production code J-6860, page designation, and Vic Catan’s name. The reverse retains additional production identification and the original 1981 DC Comics copyright notice. And the timing matters: this artwork comes from Weird War Tales #100 the landmark 100th issue of the series. For collectors of DC Comics, Bronze Age original art, Weird War Tales, Vic Catan, war comics, supernatural horror, and historically significant production artwork, this is an opportunity to own an actual piece of the DC Comics publishing process. There is only one original page 23. Once this piece is gone, another original from this exact page isn’t going to appear. One page. One issue. One piece of 1981 DC Comics history. This is the kind of original artwork that belongs on the wall not sitting in a file.
