ONE-OF-A-KIND ORIGINAL CRACKED MAGAZINE PRODUCTION ART Offered here is an exceptionally rare piece of original magazine production artwork believed to have been created for CRACKED magazine, specifically marked in the artist/production notes: “CRACKED — INSIDE FRONT COVER #2 ART.” This is not a printed reproduction or a modern recreation. This is the original hand-painted production board, complete with period production markings, blue-pencil corrections, white-out, layout notes, and handwritten instructions providing a fascinating look behind the scenes at how vintage magazine artwork was actually prepared for publication. The artwork cleverly parodies a contemporary BAN deodorant advertising campaign, featuring the iconic Ban product alongside a classical statue. But there’s an incredible detail that makes this piece even more unique: The original Ban advertising famously used “IT ROLLS ON.” This artwork changes it to: “IT ROCKS ON.” A perfect example of the irreverent humor and advertising parody associated with CRACKED. We have also located period Ban advertisements featuring remarkably similar imagery, further supporting the connection between this artwork and the contemporary advertising campaign that inspired it.
