The piece showcases an incredible black-and-white illustration of a Hepcats character and Cerebus in a dynamic, humorous scene, rendered with the detailed linework and cross-hatched style associated with early-1990s independent comics. What makes this piece especially collectible are the multiple original handwritten inscriptions, signatures, dates, and character sketches added directly to the artwork. The lower margin includes a personalized inscription dated 10/4/92, Phoenix, along with a hand-drawn character sketch, while the opposite side features an additional signed inscription and an original Cerebus sketch. The artwork is also prominently marked “JAM ’92,” adding to its significance as a collaborative/crossover-style piece from the era when the independent comics scene was thriving.
