Artist Biography Peter Boy Itukalla (Peter Qumaluk Itukalla, b. 1954) is an accomplished Inuit sculptor from Puvirnituq, Nunavik (Northern Quebec). Raised in one of the Arctic's most distinguished carving families, he learned the art of sculpture from an early age under the influence of his grandfather and other accomplished Inuit artists. His work is celebrated for its dynamic compositions depicting Arctic wildlife and traditional Inuit life, particularly bears, muskoxen, birds, seals, and other northern animals. Itukalla's sculptures have been exhibited internationally and are represented in numerous museum and private collections throughout Canada and abroad.
