Oil on board Signed au verso. 23 x 23 in. (58.4 × 58.4 cm) A peaceful rural Ontario landscape depicting a mature roadside tree with a weathered barn along Highway 24 near Erin, Ontario. Executed in a naturalistic style, the composition captures the quiet character of Wellington County farmland, with the sweeping road drawing the viewer into the distance beneath a broad summer sky. An inscription on the reverse provides valuable provenance, recording that the painting was identified by Marie Harris and depicting the "Chambers Barn – Hwy. 24 – Erin." The handwritten note further records a conversation held on May 31, 1999, stating that Marie Harris's mother knew renowned Guelph floral artist Miss Effie Smith very well and that Marie had completed numerous paintings.
