A Victorian Mary Gregory cranberry glass tumbler of straight-sided cylindrical form, decorated in opaque white enamel with a charming scene depicting a young boy pursuing a bird through a pastoral landscape. The continuous decoration features stylized trees, rolling hills, and a flying bird, all executed in the characteristic hand-painted enamel style associated with Mary Gregory glass. The tumbler is finished with a narrow gilt rim and a polished pontil base. "Mary Gregory" is the traditional collector's term for Victorian coloured glass decorated in white enamel with scenes of children in period dress. Although once attributed to Boston decorator Mary Gregory (1856–1908)
