Oscar Friedman platinum ring featuring a GIA-certified 1.57-carat pear brilliant-cut natural Burmese ruby surrounded by an ornate diamond halo, with additional diamonds accenting the split shoulders. All rings in this auction are currently sized between 6 and 7. The consignor has generously agreed to resize the purchased ring at no charge to the buyer. Rings requiring resizing will be shipped to the consignor and returned to the buyer through Southern Heirs Auction. Please allow approximately two to four weeks for the resizing and return process. The GIA report identifies the ruby as originating from Burma (Myanmar). It is described as translucent purplish red and heat-treated with residues. Ninety-two round brilliant-cut natural diamonds total approximately 1.04 carats and are described as G-H color with VS2-SI1 clarity. Gross weight is approximately 7.2 grams. Reported to be in excellent condition. A California jewelry insurance appraisal dated September 5, 2023, is included and lists a retail replacement value of $15,879. Retail replacement appraisals are prepared for insurance purposes, may vary by location, and should not be interpreted as expected auction value. If you have any doubt, please attend the preview and examine all photographs closely before bidding.
