World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, ca.1942). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Poster (18" X 24") "V-Mail Is Speed Mail" War. Presented here is a World War II-era U.S. government propaganda poster promoting the use of V-Mail (Victory Mail), issued by the Office of War Information. The campaign highlights the efficiency of V-Mail, a system that photographed letters onto microfilm for overseas transport, dramatically reducing bulk and weight. A single mail sack of microfilm could replace dozens of traditional bags, freeing valuable cargo space for critical military supplies. Beyond logistics, the message underscores morale-emphasizing that faster, more reliable communication between home and the front lines was an essential lifeline for servicemen, reinforcing connection and resolve throughout the war effort. A restored poster that displays signs of use. May include edge and fold wear, toning, foxing/staining, creasing, and unobtrusive smudging. Although backed on linen, no additional restoration has been applied.
