R Serial # 12963. .410 Ga hammer fired double barrel shotgun with 26” barrels. The bores are excellent, mostly clean with some light fouling. The barrels are both choked Modified. The chambers are 3”. The American Gun Company was a trade name for the H.D. Folsom Company which in turn owned the Crescent Firearms Company, which did the manufacturing for H.D. Folsom. The shotgun was made c. 1918. The gun is very similar to the Crescent Firearms Model 44 Midget Field. The Model 44 was made from 1915-1929.The blued metal finish on the barrels is a re-blue and is in very good condition showing patches of brown patina and some scattered underlying light remnant dings. The blued metal finish on the frame and trigger guard is a re-blue as well showing light edge wear with some streaks of brownish patina. The checkered walnut forearm and matching butt stock have been refinished and repointed, they are in near excellent condition showing little wear. There are some professionally repaired cracks in the wrist area of the butt stock. Plastic butt plate with am embossed squirrel and an LoP of 13”. The action works fine. C&R.
