Scott #65 – 1861 3¢ Rose (Washington), U.S. Postage StampDesign: Profile of George Washington in an ornate frame with “U.S. POSTAGE” at top and “THREE CENTS” at bottom.Color: Rose (this is the classic rose/pinkish-rose shade for #65; the image shows the characteristic color with some fading/toning typical of used examples from this era).Condition: Used with a heavy black cancel (appears pen or town cancel). Perforated, some edge faults/toning and minor thinning possible on the back (common for 1860s stamps). Sound enough for collecting. This is the standard Scott #65 from the 1861–1867 issue (Second Issue). The rose color is correct; shades vary from pale rose to deep rose.
