This WWII German military artillery instrument is a Deckungswinkelmesser (cover angle gauge), manufactured by J. D. Möller under the "dhq" ordnance code. Stamped with model designation H/6400 and serial number 188085, the device measures 4 1/4"L x 1 1/4"W when closed and 6"L when open. It features a heavy metal frame, an engraved brass instruction plate with German text, a slide-out arm with scale markings from 0 to 6, and a small built-in optic. A cream-colored celluloid writing plate is riveted to the side, showing visible tight cracks at the corners. Condition details include significant surface rust, pitting, and finish loss across the metal surfaces.
