Brown cardstock photograph album measuring 9" x 12" documenting Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) service followed by Kriegsmarine duty at a shore-based coastal installation during the Second World War. No specific ship, naval station, or numbered Kriegsmarine unit is identified in the photographs. The album contains mounted black-and-white photographs (134) depicting RAD personnel, Kriegsmarine sailors in dress uniforms, barracks life, group and individual portraits, coastal training areas, dike landscapes, recreation, civilian visitors, and daily activities dating from 1940 to 1945. The images chronicle military service from labor duty through naval assignment at a shore-based installation. Some photographs in this album may be vintage photographic copies rather than original copies. The album shows moderate wear to the cover with corner creasing, surface soiling, and edge wear, while the interior pages remain intact and the photographs are securely mounted with good clarity. SW
