Civil War Smith Carbine: .54 caliber, saddle ring carbine manufactured by the American Machine Works, "Address Poultney & Trimble, Baltimore." Nice metal and stocks, excellent bore. Serial # 2218. With over 30,000 made for the U.S. Government during the Civil War this very low serial number indicates manufacture in 1861. Antique.
