Every card came out of unopened wax rather than being bought as a pre-made set or pulled from a binder, and it shows: sharp corners, clean edges, bright color, and strong even borders across the run. An original 1984 Topps wax wrapper is included, preserved in a toploader, as a nod to how the set was built. The headliner is the Don Mattingly rookie card — one of the defining cards of the 1980s and still among the most actively traded vintage rookies in the hobby — joined by the Darryl Strawberry rookie, plus Nolan Ryan, Cal Ripken Jr., Ryne Sandberg, Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs, and the full roster of mid-'80s stars.
