Complete set of four WWII German WHW (Winterhilfswerk) terracotta character bust badges from the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, produced as part of a home-front charity series honoring the literary illustrations of Wilhelm Busch. The lot includes "Moritz" (from Max und Moritz), "Bock" (the schoolmaster), "Nolte," and "Helene" (Die Fromme Helene). Each badge is hand-painted on unglazed red terracotta with base name stamps identifying the characters. Badges measure 1 inches in height and 1/2 - 1 inches in width. All badges remain in great, collector-grade condition, with immaculate front faces, sharp name stamps, vivid colors, and fully intact original safety pin assemblies and adhesive backing discs.
