Small hand-built blackware pottery vase executed in the Mata Ortiz style, featuring a rounded bulbous body with a flared neck and carved matte feather-like motifs contrasting against a highly polished black surface. The vessel displays the finely burnished finish and balanced proportions characteristic of contemporary Mexican Mata Ortiz pottery. The underside bears an incised signature or initials that appear to read "TRF," although the maker has not been identified with certainty. Measures approximately 3.25 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide.
