A collection of volumes comprising The World Book Encyclopedia and its associated annual supplements titled Science Year and Year Book. The main encyclopedia set is the 1978 edition, published by World Book-Childcraft International, Inc., a subsidiary of Field Enterprises, Inc. The volumes are in a quarto format and are uniformly bound in the publisher's dark brown and black textured material, likely bonded or faux leather, with gilt-stamped lettering and decorative bands on the spines. The collection includes various alphabetical and numbered volumes of the 1978 encyclopedia set along with supplementary annuals with publication dates ranging from 1979 to 1990. Volume 1 includes the title page and detailed copyright information including ISBN 0-7166-0078-1 and Library of Congress Catalog Card Number 77-58764. Condition: The collection shows general shelf wear and signs of use consistent with age. There is rubbing and occasional light bumping to the spine ends, corners, and edges of the bindings. The gilt-stamped decoration and lettering on the spines remain largely bright, though some volumes show minor fading. The bindings are sound. These volumes were published without dust jackets.
