This contemporary mixed media painting is signed H. Schumann in the lower right corner. The composition depicts a minimalist still life centered on a large, bulbous vessel. The artist utilized heavy impasto and sgraffito techniques to create a highly tactile surface, characterized by deep vertical scoring and layered earth tones of brown and ochre. Slender, arcing blue-gray branches with small, orange, teardrop-shaped leaves extend across the composition from the right.
