This contemporary mixed media painting is signed H. Schumann in the lower right corner. The composition depicts a minimalist still life centered on a large, bulbous vessel. The artist utilized heavy impasto and sgraffito techniques to create a highly tactile surface, characterized by deep vertical scoring and layered earth tones of brown and ochre. Slender, arcing blue-gray branches with small, orange, teardrop-shaped leaves extend across the composition from the right. The background is rendered in shades of off-white and cream, applied with a palette knife to achieve a multifaceted, plaster-like texture. The work is housed behind glass in a dark wood-toned stepped frame with a double off-white mat. Condition: The artwork appears to be in good and stable condition. The textural elements are well-preserved with no visible losses or flaking. The frame shows minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
