Oil on board Image Size: 5.5 × 7 in Frame Size: 9.5 × 12 in. Signed: Lower left, Song Jiang. A finely executed original oil on board depicting a snow-covered Rocky Mountain landscape, likely inspired by the Canadian Rockies around Banff National Park. A winding partially frozen river leads the eye toward majestic snow-capped peaks beneath a brilliant blue winter sky, while dark evergreen forests provide striking contrast against the luminous snow. Artist Biography Song Jiang (Chinese/Canadian, b. 1966) is an accomplished landscape painter known for his expressive oil paintings of the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia, and Ontario. Originally trained in China before immigrating to Canada, Jiang combines traditional academic draftsmanship with an Impressionistic approach to colour and texture. His works frequently depict Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, and other iconic Canadian landscapes, emphasizing changing seasons and dramatic light. His paintings have been exhibited throughout Canada and are represented in numerous private collections. Small plein-air studies and larger studio works alike are appreciated for their vibrant colour, confident brushwork, and faithful interpretation of Canada's natural scenery.
