An attractive original colour linocut titled Woodland, depicting a tranquil forest clearing inhabited by a stag and doe beneath sweeping evergreen boughs. Executed in a restrained palette of deep plum, pale blue, and warm cream, the composition displays the clean, graphic lines and balanced design characteristic of twentieth-century relief printmaking. Artist Biography George A. Christensen was a Canadian printmaker and graphic artist active during the mid-twentieth century. Working primarily in relief printing, Christensen produced finely crafted colour linocuts and woodblock prints inspired by Canada's forests, wildlife, and natural landscapes. His work reflects the influence of traditional Arts and Crafts printmaking, emphasizing strong design, simplified forms, and carefully layered colour.
