Artist: George Weber Title: The Three Sisters, Canmore, Alberta Date: 1964 Medium: Colour silkscreen (screenprint) on paper Signed: Signed and dated "Weber '64" lower right; titled in pencil lower left Sight Size: 6.5 × 9.5 in. Frame Size: 10.5 × 13 in. A finely executed colour silkscreen depicting the iconic Three Sisters mountain range near Canmore, Alberta. The composition captures the tranquil Bow Valley landscape with reflective water, evergreen forests, and the snow-capped peaks rendered in Weber's clean, graphic style. Executed in muted greens, blues, and earth tones, the print exemplifies the mid-century Canadian landscape aesthetic and demonstrates the artist's mastery of the silkscreen process. The reverse retains the original descriptive label identifying the subject and noting Weber's background and exhibition history, adding to the work's provenance and period presentation. Artist Biography: George Weber was a Canadian printmaker best known for his colourful silkscreen landscapes of Alberta and British Columbia. He studied colour and composition at the Ontario College of Art and became recognized for his graphic interpretations of the Canadian landscape. Weber was a member of the Society of Canadian Painter-Etchers and Engravers, and his works are represented in the Society's permanent collection. During his career he exhibited regularly in Toronto, Seattle, and other Canadian and American centres. His finely produced screenprints remain popular with collectors of mid-century Canadian landscape art.
