Paper . Title: Cloud of Desire Technique: Gouache on paper. Measures: 31 x 23 inches (78.7 x 58.4 cm). Year: Circa 1940s. Condition: Good overall condition. The painted surface retains excellent color, smooth transitions, and fine detail throughout. Minor wear consistent with age and careful handling. Canvas remains structurally sound and display ready. Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eduardo Serrano, Madrid, Spain; later acquired through Galería Contemporánea Barcelona; subsequently preserved in a distinguished Palm Beach, Florida collection specializing in Surrealist paintings before entering the present secondary market collection. Visual Description: A dreamlike desert landscape unfolds beneath dramatic clouds where a reclining female figure emerges from the sky, suspended above an enigmatic scene. Below, a kneeling figure extends a delicate red thread toward the floating apparition while a mysterious clock-like stone monument and distant architecture reinforce the poetic symbolism.
