This is an antique Simon & Halbig / Heinrich Handwerck bisque head doll, model #109 DEP, standing an impressive 30 inches tall. Marked "109 DEP. Germany HANDWERCK 6" on the back of the head, this early German doll features striking brown glass sleep eyes, open mouth with teeth, and pierced ears, with earrings included. The doll has a jointed composition body, showing some wear, cracking, and loss consistent with age. She wears a red plaid dress, black velvet collar, white lace-trimmed undergarments, black stockings, and a large satin bow. All paired clothing and accessories are present, making this an exceptional example for collectors.
