This is a 19th-century French Fashion doll, a type of poupée from the Victorian era, measuring 23 inches tall. Crafted with period-typical materials, its unmarked composition-like head features blue inset eyes and painted facial features, framed by brown mohair hair. There are damages around the eyes as shown. The body is jointed cloth, showing age-appropriate wear, with stitched shaping for hips and limbs. The doll comes with an original wardrobe: a velvet and silk bodice with bead trim, a wool skirt with silk banding, and a set of undergarments including a chemise, pantaloons, linen skirt, and black knit stockings. The clothing exhibits small holes, surface wear, and age discoloration, consistent with its 19th-century origin. The doll and garments together showcase the elegance and craftsmanship of high-end Parisian dolls. **SHIPPING NOT RECOMMENDED Shipping is not recommended for this doll due to the extremely delicate sleep eye mechanism. The internal eye assembly cannot be properly secured for safe transit without compromising the structural integrity of the doll. While we take great care in packaging every item, we cannot ensure the safe arrival of this doll through standard shipping methods. Bidders who require shipping are strongly encouraged to reconsider purchasing this item. If a buyer chooses to have the doll shipped despite this recommendation, they do so entirely at their own risk. The seller and auction company assume no responsibility or liability for any damage that may occur during transit or upon arrival at its destination.
