This large-scale temple rubbing on fibrous paper depicts a dynamic Khmer battle scene based on the 12th-century bas-reliefs of Angkor Wat. The composition features a central heroic archer surrounded by infantry soldiers in mokot crowns carrying spears and shields. A gallery label on the reverse documents the acquisition in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in 1969.Height: 56.5 inchesWidth: 32.5 inches. The artwork exhibits standard horizontal and vertical seams from construction along with minor toning and surface undulation. The frame shows light surface wear and scuffs consistent with age. The brown paper dust cover on the reverse is in poor condition with significant tearing and water stains along the edges.
