Mary E. Hart (American, 1867-1941). This horizontal panoramic watercolor and bodycolor on paper depicts an arrangement of purple and white violets spilled onto a light surface. Signed Mary E. Hart in the lower right, the piece is matted in green and housed in a foliate silver-toned frame with a label from Mathews Paint and Decorating on the reverse.Visible sight: 8.5 x 32.5 inchesFramed: 12.5 x 37.25 inches.The paper support exhibits moderate cockling and rippling throughout, accompanied by light overall toning. Minor scattered scuffs and wear are present on the silver-toned finish of the frame. The paper dust cover on the verso has a vertical crease and light soiling.
