By Toshio Sugasawa, this investment-grade modernist Japanese art glass is an authentic Hoya Crystal "Tension" series sculptural bud vase that stands 10 ½” tall. It features a heavy, thick-walled circular base that tapers elegantly upward before opening into a striking architectural V-notched rim. Because the Hoya Corporation permanently closed its luxury art glass division, pure crystal works of this scale are highly collectible and scarce. The base bears the artist's etched signature.The vase is in very good condition without any observable chips, cracks, or restorations. The glass clarity remains excellent.
