Japanese School 'Mandarin Ducks' Plaque

This enamel plaque depicts a pair of mandarin ducks swimming in ripples of water, executed in a style consistent with Japanese shippo-yaki. The composition features vibrant colors against a shimmering blue textured ground and is housed in a deep, multi-layered frame with a black mat. The reverse bears a handwritten inscription on a yellow adhesive label reading, 'TOKYO, MAY 27, 2001 REUNION.'14.5 x 14.25 in.The artwork appears to be in good condition with no visible damage to the enamel surface. The frame exhibits minor surface wear and light abrasions consistent with age and handling.
