Two Tropical Landscape Paintings

The first work is an oil on canvas depicting a village at sunset. The composition features three circular thatched-roof huts situated along a reddish-gold shoreline. This work is signed Abu in the lower left corner and is mounted on basic wooden stretchers without a frame.This painting is unsigned and is housed in a simple, cream-colored textured wooden frame with a Masonite-style backing board. Both works utilize the bold, decorative brushwork and vibrant color palettes characteristic of mid-century folk or souvenir art.Village scene (oil on canvas): 9 x 9 inchesFramed coastal scene (oil on board): 26 x 11 inchesBoth paintings are in good overall condition consistent with age. The village scene on canvas shows minor wear and paint thinning along the extreme edges where it wraps around the stretchers; the reverse of the canvas shows light dust and typical aging of the wood. The panoramic landscape on board exhibits minor surface grime and very light yellowing to the varnish. No significant craquelure, flaking, or previous restoration is visible on either work.
