This oil on canvas painting, signed Caton, depicts a Shetland Sheepdog standing in profile within a traditional pastoral landscape. The signature Caton appears in red lettering at the lower right. The reverse of the work reveals a modern canvas on a wooden stretcher, secured to the frame with metal offset clips. No labels, stamps, or further inscriptions are present on the verso.Overall framed dimensions: 32 x 36 inches.The painting is in excellent condition. There is no visible craquelure, paint loss, or surface grime, and the canvas remains taut on its stretcher. The frame is structurally sound and exhibits minor surface wear and small areas of finish loss consistent with handling.
