Estimate: 60 / 600 A collection of naval orders from between 1861 and 1866. Most on 4to sheets (one folio), all orders to naval engineer George W. Howe. 1 signed by Samuel Phillips Lee, 2 signed by Gideon Welles as Sec. of the Navy, others signed by Commodore Garrett J. Pendergrast, Thornton Jenkins, others. Mostly Good. Condition: For lots in this online-only auction, condition is stated in general terms only, ranging from Poor to Fine, with Good being average (i.e. an exhaustive list of individual flaws is not included, but only our opinion of the overall cumulative grade is provided.) Most books in this sale have been given a brief inspection only and have not been fully collated (unless the collation is shown.)
