Nice antique late 19th or early 20th century French porcelain pitcher / jug. With hand painted Watteau courting couple signed below the spout. The scene is signed Watteau and framed with elaborate raised and beaded gold floral scrollwork. Cobalt background. Gold gilding around the rim and to the base. With Rococo Revival style handle with gold beading and highlights. Has a pseudo / spurious blue Sevres mark on the base and a ground area where the original manufacture's mark has been removed. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 7 inches wide from spout to handle x 9 1/4 inches tall.
