This listing is for a beautiful hand decorated plate with Dresden type floral borders & a large elaborately painted and gild central peacock motif. Painted on a fancy blank that was most likely made by Charles Ahrenfeldt. The plate is marked on the reverse with the crown saxe mark and a pattern number of 4772/1677 in green. The Crown Saxe mark was used by a decorating studio run by Charles Ahrenfeldt and Richard Briggs Co. This mark was used between 1886 - 1910. Has a lot of wear to the gilding along the edge, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. The plate measures approximately 8 3/4 inches wide.
