An ancient-looking carving of an Egyptian sphynx that was carved from black slate during the height of "Tutmania" in the 1920s. A block of black slate has been hand carved into a sculptural shape of an Egyptian sphynx. It has a flat base with two small holes. It may have been one been attached to something, possibly a clock. The carving is deep. MEASUREMENTS 4 ½" (11.4 cm) long x 1 ½" (3.8 cm) wide x 3 ¾" (9.5 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 0.4 oz (465 g) CONDITION There is a crack on the sphynx's back, but no other breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. An ancient-looking work of art to complement your Tutmania collection.
