A deeply cast and artistic, large bronze censer crafted during the Japanese Meiji period. The heavy bronze was cast in the shape of a moving horse with a saddle on its back. The spirit of the horse is indicated with ears up, prancing and tail raised. The horse has a dark brown patina. Pick up the saddle and there is the hole to the incense burner. The censer is unmarked. MEASUREMENTS 9 ¼" (24.5 cm) long x 3 ¼" (8.3 cm) wide x 10 ¼" (26.0 cm) tall. Weighs 4 lbs 5.1 oz (2240 g) CONDITION There are no breaks, repairs, cracks, or dents. There is some wear to the patina on the horse's flanks where the saddle rubs, as well as smaller areas on the nostrils and tips of the ear. There are also a few shallow scratches A large size that will make a statement a home. A great bronze for a lover of horses. It has spirit.
