A single bookend by Frankart, a great manufacturer of Art Deco bookends during the 1930s. The cast gray metal bookend is in the shape of a stylized Art Deco doe on a stepped base. The base is slanted and gives the feeling of movement. The bookend has had a bronze patina applied to the gray metal and still gives a warm and shiny cast. The felt is missing but you can see the screws and nuts holding the figure to the base. A mark cast into the base reads FRANKART. INCentury PAT. APPLD. FOR. MEASUREMENTS 3 ½" (8.9 cm) wide x 3 3/8" (8.4 cm) deep x 5 ½" (14.0 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 4.3 oz (565 g) CONDITION There are no breaks, cracks, or dents. The finish shows oxidization and wear. It has a nice antique look. The felt is missing and you can see places inside where the patina is missing. A great Art Deco bookend that is streamlined and sleek. Period: 1930s Origin: United States Materials: Metal Dimensions: 3.5"W × 3.33"D × 5.5"H
