A large white on white Japanese porcelain vase with subtle designs of peonies above stylized waves at the foot. The vase has a recessed foot that is unglazed, and shows an iron red firing ring. The base is glazed. There is a fan shaped paper label on the base that reads JAPAN. MEASUREMENTS 15 ¾" (40.0 cm) tall x 6" (15.2 cm) diameter. Weighs 5 lbs 5.8 oz (2425 g) CONDITION There are no cracks, chips, or breaks. There is a hole in the base because the vase was lamped. The glaze is in very good condition. A large, elegant and subtle vase that is highly visible from a distance. It would fit with many decors from Mid Century to Victorian.
