Three-book educational bundle covering human evolution, anthropology, history, culture, and the development of life on Earth. One illustrated hardcover (Lucy and Her Times) and two softcover/paperback books with printed paper/cardstock covers and paper pages. Overall fair used condition, with condition varying between the three books. 1. Lucy and Her Times by Pascal Picq and Nicole Verrechia, Henry Holt Reference Book, 1996. Large-format illustrated hardcover examining the famous Australopithecus afarensis fossil “Lucy,” prehistoric life, human origins, evolution, early hominids, fossils, climate, and related historical topics. The book uses photographs, illustrations, timelines, and short features throughout. Good condition showing storage and handling wear, including rubbing, bumped/worn corners and edges, and some cover wear; interior pages appear generally clean and readable. 2. Anthropology: The Human Challenge, 11th Edition by William A. Haviland, Harald E. L. Prins, Dana Walrath, and Bunny McBride, Wadsworth/Thomson Learning, copyright 2005. Large college-level paperback textbook covering physical and cultural anthropology, archaeology, human origins and biological development, language, cultures, societies, and human diversity. Fair condition with moderate to heavy use, including cover curling/creasing, edge and corner wear, page-edge discoloration, and visible torn/damaged pages near the rear of the book. The original CD-ROM/access materials are missing. 3. The Meaning of Evolution by George Gaylord Simpson, A Mentor Book/New American Library, First Printing, October 1951, special revised and abridged edition. Vintage science paperback discussing the history and principles of evolution, the fossil record, humanity, ethics, and man's place in the history of life. The 1951 Mentor edition contains approximately 192 pages. Poor condition with age toning, staining/moisture marks, worn and chipped edges, cover deterioration, and significant binding/spine separation.
