This is a science textbook reference bundle covering biology, chemistry, and neuroscience. Overall fair to good used condition, all book bindings are intact and secure, conditions vary across the books. This collection includes: 1. Biology: The Unity and Diversity of Life, 8th Edition by Cecie Starr and Ralph Taggart, Wadsworth Publishing, 1998 copyright shown, ISBN 0-534-53001-X / 9780534530013. Large illustrated hardcover textbook with roughly 900 pages. Biology is a broad introductory biology textbook covering cellular biology, chemistry of life, metabolism, genetics and DNA, genetic engineering, evolution, bacteria and viruses, fungi and plants, animal biology, human anatomy and physiology, reproduction, ecology, ecosystems and behavior. Fair condition and shows the heaviest wear. The covers have substantial rubbing, scratching, discoloration, bumped/worn corners and edge wear. There is visible damage along the lower cover/spine areas and staining/discoloration to portions of the page block. The interior pages remain readable and generally clean. 2. Chemistry in Context: Applying Chemistry to Society, 2nd Edition, a project of the American Chemical Society, copyright 1997, ISBN 0-697-29158-8 / 9780697291585. Softcover college-level chemistry text. Chemistry in Context teaches chemistry through real-world social and environmental issues. Chapters include air quality, ozone depletion, global warming, energy, water, acid rain, nuclear fission, alternative energy, plastics and polymers, pharmaceuticals, nutrition and genetic engineering. The text runs to roughly 500 pages including glossary and index. Fair to Good used condition. The softcover has rubbing, scratches, creasing, worn corners and edge wear. The page block shows handling and some marks. There is a handwritten “.50” notation near the upper corner of an interior page. The pages shown remain clean and readable. 3. Neurons and Networks: An Introduction to Neuroscience by John E. Dowling, Belknap Press of Harvard University Press, 1992, ISBN 0-674-60820-8 / 9780674608207. It was published by Harvard's Belknap Press in 1992. The number line runs through “1,” consistent with a first printing. Neurons and Networks is an introductory neuroscience text explaining neurons, nervous-system organization, brain cells and neural networks, integrating cellular and molecular neuroscience with broader nervous-system function. Good to Very Good used condition. The orange hardcover remains attractive with light-to-moderate rubbing, minor scratches, bumped corners and some wear at the spine ends. The page block is relatively clean, and the interior pages shown are bright and clean with no obvious writing, highlighting, tears or staining.
