This is a book collection from Mary Pope Osborne’s popular Magic Tree House early chapter-book series, illustrated by Sal Murdocca and published in these copies by Scholastic. An especially nice feature is that several are First Scholastic printings. All are early Scholastic editions, rather than the original Random House first editions. The series follows siblings Jack and Annie, who discover a magical tree house that transports them to different places and periods in history. This assortment takes readers on adventures involving dinosaurs, medieval knights, ancient Egypt, pirates, the Amazon rainforest, the moon, African wildlife, Vikings, and the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The short chapters, illustrations and adventure format make these especially suited to developing independent readers. Overall Good used to New condition, with condition varying by book. The paperbacks show normal reading and shelf wear including rubbed and bumped corners, edge wear, light cover creasing, scuffing and some spine-end wear. The page edges show mild age toning and handling wear. The interiors shown are generally clean and readable, with bindings intact. Earthquake in the Early Morning appears to have heavier lower-spine/corner wear than some of the others.
