Elgin WWII Type A-8 Navigation Watch

This WWII-era U.S. Army Air Corps navigation stopwatch, designated as Type A-8, was manufactured by the Elgin National Watch Company. The instrument features a matte black dial with crisp white Arabic numerals and a center sub-dial graduated from 1 to 10. The name ELGIN is printed on the dial face above the 5 and 6 o'clock positions. The chrome-plated base metal case was produced by the Illinois Watch Case Co. and is stamped I.W.C.CO. BASE METAL near the hinge. Diameter: 2 inchesThe collection is in good vintage condition overall. The paper bank wrappers exhibit age-appropriate wear including fraying and small tears at the crimped ends as well as minor surface staining. The visible coins show no evidence of circulation, cleaning, or surface damage and retain their original manufacturing finish.
