Title: Twin Portraits in Rainbow Tones Technique: Acrylic on canvas Measures: 19 x 28 inches (48.3 x 71.1 cm) Year: Undated Condition: Appears in good overall condition. The surface shows saturated color with drips and splatters over a black ground, and the canvas weave shows through in places. Minor surface wear may be present. The canvas edges are painted in red and yellow and stapled to the stretcher. Presented in a white frame. Condition is described from the photographs supplied. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition description. Provenance: Private family collection, Montecito, California. Visual Description: A Pop Art-inspired composition showing the same portrait of a woman with curled hair, heavy-lidded eyes and parted lips twice, side by side. Each face is rendered as a black silhouette, with the hair, brows, eyes and lips picked out in bright color against a black ground. The left portrait is outlined in green and blue, with blue lips and an orange edge along the right cheek. The right portrait shifts from yellow to blue, with red lips and red and blue brows. Drips and splatters of orange, red, yellow and blue run across the surface, and green flecks appear along the left edge. No signature is visible in the photographs supplied. This composition reflects stylistic elements commonly associated with major figures in modern and contemporary art.
