This repurposed console or side table features a vintage cast iron treadle sewing machine frame manufactured by the White Manufacturing Company. The base is identified by the raised W.M.F.G. CO lettering cast into the treadle. The frame is constructed of black-painted cast iron and features a central X-shaped support, a large spoked flywheel on the right side, and a decorative pierced-metal foot treadle. The rectangular top is a contemporary replacement made of solid wood planks with a light, natural finish and edge banding. Dimensions (measured against a ruler): H 30 1/4 inches x W 34 1/8 inches x D 23 inches. Condition: Good condition. The wooden top shows minor signs of handling and light surface wear. The cast iron base retains a black finish with scattered wear and minor oxidation consistent with age. The foot treadle is currently secured to the frame with a plastic tie.
