A group of three graduated elephant figurines, hand-carved from solid dark hardwood, identified as ebony. The figures are detailed with inset white tusks and corresponding small white accents on the feet mimicking toenails, likely fashioned from bone or a composite material. The trio is depicted in naturalistic walking poses, including one figure with a lowered, curled trunk. These pieces are characteristic of mid-20th century hand-carved export ware, frequently associated with East African artisan traditions. The ears are carved in a smaller, triangular style. Approximate dimensions (largest figure): H 6.4 cm x L 8.9 cm Approximate dimensions (smallest figure): H 4.5 cm x L 6.4 cm. Condition: The figurines exhibit minor surface scuffs and light abrasions to the dark wood consistent with age and handling. There are several small losses to the inset white toenail details on the feet of all three figures. The inset tusks remain intact and appear secure. The structures are stable with no visible signs of cracking or restoration.
