[VERNACULAR ALBUM] Album of approximately 160 cdv photographs, late 19th century, of prominent people and places in Great Britain and various European countries, most captioned in type in lower margin and additionally captioned in pencil on album mounts, housed in commercial full red morocco album elaborately decorated in gilt and black, gold clasps, all edges gilt. Provenance: Mary Wardsorth Hackett (gilt stamp to upper cover). A collection of commercially sold cdvs (and approximately 8 cabinet cards) of 19th century European figures and places of interest, including Dickens, Queen Victoria, Disraeli, Gladstone, Darwin, St. Cecilia's, London Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Dublin, Isle of Wight, Switzerland, Leipzig, etc. Condition Toning to album leaves, photos in very good condition, backstrip deteriorating, boards rubbed.
